Ultimate Frisbee on St. John
The sport of Ultimate Frisbee (now officially titled "Ultimate") is known for its "Spirit of the Game"(TM) (Yes, it's really trademarked). This code of conduct calls for mutual respect among players and allows for games to be self-refereed.
We like to think that St. John's own Catch 'n' Keep team plays by the "Spirit of the Game" and then some. For one thing, Tuesday night Ultimate has always been open to everyone. Players of all ages and abilities are welcome, and participants range from residents who schedule their work around "Frisbee night" to tourists who arrive having heard about the games through word-of-mouth.
Numbers for Ultimate change week to week, games never start at any predetermined time, and it's as much a way to catch up with friends as it is to get in some friendly competition.
